Inside the Ride

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

If you’ve ever been to Epcot ® at Walt Disney World ® you know the theme park does an excellent job immersing guests into the many cultures of the world. From the 11 World Showcase Pavilions to the annual Epcot ® International Food & Wine Festival, when you leave Epcot ® you’re sure to have a vast knowledge of the world’s cultures. And there is one ride at the park that will not only teach you the ways of its people but combine actual sights and sounds of the country with a few of Disney’s most beloved characters - Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros.

Experience the sights and sounds of Mexico as you take an exciting boat ride with Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, a Brazilian parrot and Panchito, the Mexican rooster from the 1944 Disney ® film “The Three Caballeros.” Along the way guests will learn about the people, culture, history and arts of Mexico in a fun-filled way you won’t forget!

The story behind the ride is that the three-feathered friends are scheduled to reunite for a grand musical performance in Mexico City, but Donald Duck, distracted by the lights of the city has gone missing. His friends scour the city to find him, visiting many of Mexico’s famous places and attractions, in hopes to bring him back in time for the concert.

Large video screens show Donald off gallivanting through Mexico’s pyramids and monuments and watching water sports while Jose and Panchito search other Mexican hotspots for their friend. And as you watch the three characters take in the gorgeous sights and sounds of Mexico you too will be able to experience the people, culture, history and arts of the country through actual images of such amazing places as Acapulco, Chechen Itza, Manzanillo and Mexico City. The attraction uses traditional animation super-imposed over live-action film clips, allowing guests to see the Mexican places where the three characters are either playing or searching. The many vibrant sights seen on the ride are accompanied by lively music, which gives guests an even better feel of a Mexican adventure.

So do Jose and Panchito find Donald Duck in time for the concert? You’ll just have to travel through Mexico on the immersive ride to find out!
