Chances are your kids are so excited for Christmas morning that the second Dec. 26 rolls around they may experience a little holiday withdrawal. Unfortunately for you, the kids probably still have a week or so off from school so you have to find something to do to counteract their Christmas blues and keep them occupied. Luckily, LEGOLAND Florida has two special events designed just for them – Kid’s Countdown to New Year’s Eve and Kid’s New Year’s Eve!
Don’t let the kids get the blues this Dec. 26, instead take them to LEGOLAND Florida to help kick off the New Year’s Eve festivities. The entire week before New Year’s Eve kids can countdown to 2013 with special LEGOLAND Florida New Year’s Eve events like nightly fireworks displays over Lake Eloise. During the incredible display, guests will be given special 3D viewing glasses that make ordinary fireworks look like millions of exploding bricks! Kids can also enjoy a New Year’s Eve themed live-action show with LEGO Friends Characters in Pirate’s Cove Stadium.
Once your kids have had a taste of LEGOLAND Florida’s Countdown to New Year’s Eve festivities make sure you bring them back on Dec. 31 for the official New Year’s Eve party. Kids and adults alike can ring in 2013 with plenty of exciting New Year’s Eve fun including a live DJ Dance Party at Miniland U.S.A., a grand finale featuring a live-action show, more explosive LEGO fireworks with 3D glasses and even a chance to watch the ball drop, and by ball we mean a LEGO brick of course! But don’t worry mom and dad, just like the rest of the events at LEGOLAND Florida’s New Year’s Eve party, the brick dropping will take place at a time suitable for children - midnight KST (Kid Standard Time) or otherwise known as 6 p.m. EST.
And now that you know what you’re doing with the kids the week after Christmas don’t forget to let the kids celebrate the season during LEGOLAND Florida’s Christmas Bricktacular event. For the next two weekends (Saturday and Sunday only), guests to the Orlando theme park can get into the holiday spirit with LEGOLAND Florida holiday themed activities including a 30-foot tall LEGO Christmas tree located at the entrance to the park, a Santa scavenger hunt in Miniland U.S.A., a LEGO Model Build Activity in the Wells Fargo Fun Town 4D Theatre Plaza, and meet-and-greet opportunities with LEGO Santa and LEGO Toy Soldiers. Plus, the entire park is decked out in festive decorations with plenty of music and entertainment you don’t want to miss.
