Leap Year - it only happens once every four years and when it does you can bet Orlando theme parks pack the day with extra Leap Day fun you won’t soon forget. And this year, Walt Disney World ® is making sure its guests take full advantage of the extra day with special Leap Year offerings.
Walt Disney World® will have guests “leap”ing for joy this Leap Day when they keep their most popular park open for 24 hours in celebration of Leap Year! Disney’s ® Magic Kingdom ® will be spreading the magic starting February 29 at 6:00 a.m. and going all the way through 6:00 a.m. on March 1.
Disney’s® “One More Disney Day” invites Magic Kingdom™ guests to celebrate the extra day with 24 hours of non-stop Disney magic! Ride your favorite rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain just as the sun rises or take in the beauty of Cinderella Castle as the sun settles behind her. You can even spin your way into March as you ride Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Tea Party ride as the sun comes back up on the 1st.
Orlando’s other theme parks may not be staying open all day and all night like Walt Disney World ® is, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t take advantage of the extra day this Wednesday and enjoy all of Orlando’s other rides and attractions.
At Universal Orlando you can spend Leap Day exploring the popular attraction The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. Spend the extra day roaming the shops of Hogsmeade just like Harry Potter does in the films, choose your “dragon” in Dragon Challenge and experience the thrill and excitement as you twist, loop and nearly collide with other dragons on this thrilling roller coaster ride, or even join Harry and his friends on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey coaster where you’ll come face-to-face with an array of magical creatures. And don’t forget to enjoy the film’s famous drink butterbeer all day long.
Over at SeaWorld Orlando take Leap Day and explore some of the theme park’s newest shows and attractions like One Ocean. Watch as majestic killer whales take you on a journey into the beauty, sights and sounds of the ocean in this spectacular performance. Dancing fountains, lights and effects surround the killer whales as they leap, dive and splash the cheering audience around them. You’ll even encounter other aquatic wild life like otters and seals in this unique show.
It only happens once every four years so make sure you spend Leap Year having fun! And to make your Leap Day even more enjoyable you can find discounted tickets right here on OrlandoFunTickets.com.
