Theme Park News

SeaWorld One OceanRumors are swirling about some new additions coming to SeaWorld Orlando in 2012 and 2013. Orlando’s aquatic based theme park is really amping up their game lately with the release of their first film “Turtle: The Incredible Journey” and now it seems they have even more plans for the coming years. Here’s what you can look forward to:

2012 – Turtles 4D & Happy Harbor Water Fortress – Rumor has it construction has already begun behind the current Manatee attraction area for SeaWorld’s 2012 attraction, which is said to be Turtles 4D, a edited down in-ark 4D theater version of this summer’s “Turtle: The Incredible Journey” film.

The current Manatee attraction is expected to be revamped into a Florida wildlife themed area and serve as home to alligators, turtles, manatees and other local species.

In addition to Turtles 4D, improvements are to come to Happy Harbor, as well as the large fake ship will be removed and replaced with a new Water Fortress style attraction.

But perhaps the most exciting new SeaWorld addition is set to come in 2013 in the form of a dark ride. Rumor has it the entire Penguin Plaza area is slated to be removed sometime in early 2012 to make room for a major dark ride attraction. It’s been said that SeaWorld was eyeballed for a bunch of different dark ride concept ideas following the introduction of Curse of DarKastle at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Curse of DarKastle is a haunted European castle full of ghosts, werewolves, and other creatures in the night.

And for those penguins that will be removed a brand new and improved home for them will be built as part of the massive 2013 project.

But you don’t have to wait until next year to enjoy all of the sea life, rides and attractions SeaWorld has to offer. is currently offering exclusive savings on adult and children admission to the theme park.
