Miniland USA at LEGOLAND Florida

President Barack Obama and his family visited LEGOLAND Florida during his inauguration on Monday, or at least his LEGO likeness did. The first family and the “first dog” are permanent fixtures of Miniland U.S.A. and can be spotted, inauguration or not standing on the steps of the LEGO White House greeting guests as they walk past the impressive replica. Also, President Obama can be seen traveling on a moving motor cage around the D.C. But it’s the details that make Miniland U.S.A so impressive; everything has been researched so vigorously that the smallest aspects like the exact coloration of the coat of First Dog, the Portuguese Water Dog, Bo, which has more white on his front left paw.

Located in Miniland U.S.A. the White House LEGO figure is all a part of the Washington D.C. area of the Orlando theme park where visitors can experience a trip to the Capitol with other famous Washington buildings and monuments made of LEGO bricks including the U.S. Capitol building, Smithsonian, Washington and Jefferson monuments and parts of Georgetown. The Washington D.C. Miniland area also includes an animated marching band that parades in front of the Capitol and tiny cherry trees that blossom in the spring, just like they do in the real city.

Over in California you’ll be able to see the gorgeous Golden Gate Bridge, shop at Pier 39 and tour the Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Miniland U.S.A even takes guests on a mini Florida adventure taking you to Mallory Square in Key West, Bok Tower in Central Florida and antebellum mansions in the Panhandle. There is also a section that pays homage to the Kennedy Space center with Shuttle launch, astronaut training and Rocket Garden. Visitors can even see what it’s like to be a part of the excitement at the famous Daytona International Speedway with your own LEGO brick racing car.
