Tampa’s largest family Halloween event, ZooBoo is returning to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo this Friday, September 27 for a month of ghoulish fun for the entire family. ZooBoo is celebrating its 15th year of spooks so you can expect more frightfully fun haunted houses, chills, thrills and family frights than ever before!

If you’ve never been to Tampa’s Lowry Park ZooBoo you might enjoy the event’s family favorites including the Spooky Fun Fair located near Lake Sharon. Here you and the fam can enjoy fun and challenging fair games like Pumpkin Pitch, Monster Ball, T-Ball Baseball, Shoot Out, Hot Potato and more. There is even a not-so-spooky forest called Little Beasties Bungalow where you and the little ones can enjoy a world of dazzling lights and friendly Halloween scenes.

The family can also enjoy some spooks on the zoo’s many free rides, all of which have been re-named for the haunting occasion. Thrill rides available include Batty Bumper Boats, Pumpkin Patch Express, Roarin’ Roller-Ghoster, Flyin’ Boo-nanas and Scary-Go-Round.

And if a visit to the zoo isn’t complete without seeing some animals make sure you check out the spooky species who come out at night like the Flying Fox Bat House in the back of Wallaroo Station and Stingray Bay along the Florida Boardwalk.

If you’re looking for a little more haunting experience at ZooBoo, check out the park’s frightful Haunts including the French Quarter Phantoms, where you will explore the secret and sinister side of the Big Easy; Wake the Dead where you will venture into the graveyard full of un-dead and encounter zombies and ghostly apparitions; Tangled Terror is just as it sounds, a maze full of hybridized carnivorous plants that are on the hunt for food, human food; Pharaoh’s Tomb of Revenge will unleash unsettled spirits and the curse of the Pharaoh; and lastly Fright Theater 3D: Trapped in Time will take you back to a once famous movie theater that hasn’t stopped showing movies form the past.

For a break form the haunts visit ZooBoo’s unique boo-tiques for shopping, food and drinks. Some of the shops will feature Zoo collectibles, while others are stocked with special fall and Halloween themed items. Be sure to grab a special ZooBoo food or drink item as you peruse the zoo’s collectibles!
