Food for Thought

Whether you grew up in the 1950s, there is nothing like stepping back in time and enjoying a home cooked meal with your family inside a ‘50’s kitchen. Thanks to 50’s Prime Time Café in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that is exactly how you can spend a lunch or dinner during your Disney trip.

From the moment you step inside 50’s Prime Time Café you will be transported back to the time period with white and black checkered flooring, vinyl chairs, Formica tables and old-fashioned TVs everywhere. Designed to look like Mom’s Kitchen, the 50’s Prime Time Café will make you feel right at home as you settle into some mouthwatering American comfort food!

Fill your rumbling belly with Mom’s Old-fashioned Pot Roast, slow-cooked until fork tender served with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Brown Gravy, Carrots, Celery and Onions; Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken served with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Gravy and Collard Greens; Dad’s Stuffed Pork Chop with Gouda Cheese, Cranberry, Apples and Herbs served with Roasted Potatoes and Carrots; Grandma’s Chicken Pot Pie, a cheesy mixture of Chicken, Mushrooms, Carrots, Celery, Onions and Peas topped with a flaky Pastry and many more nostalgic dishes.

50’s Prime Time Café also offers Dad’s Dazzling Drinks, specialty drinks in souvenir cups featuring Dad’s Electric Ice Cubes or a glowing Disney character light. If you’re over 21 you can get into Dad’s liquor cabinet and bop into the Tune-In Lounge next door for a Singapore Sling or a Blue Glow-tini.

If you still want more after Mom’s pot roast and in between Glow-tinis satisfy those taste buds with one of Mom’s famous desserts. Continuing with the 1950’s theme, the dessert menu can be found in old-school viewfinder toy! There you’ll find Mom’s Boston cream parfait, seasonal cobbler, S’mores, Dad’s Brownie Sundae and many more tasty treats.

The best part about the 50’s prime Time Café is you’re allowed to watch TV while you eat! It may not be a regular occurrence in your home but at this special café you can catch the biggest shows of the decade while you eat! Just choose a “TV Table” and enjoy black-and-white television clips from some of 1955’s most popular shows.
