Universal's Volcano Bay drinks

Food for Thought

When Universal’s new water park Volcano Bay opens in a few weeks, guests will be transported to the South Pacific, through the park’s atmosphere, rides and even tastes.

“You’ll find some mango, you’ll find some curry, you’ll find some spices. You’ll find some of those things that connect these senses to each other as far as the food is concerned,” Ric Florell, senior vice president and general manager of resort revenue operation at Universal, said in a statement last month.

Florell went on to say the food will be a huge piece of the experience of the new water park, and we certainly agree.

So what exactly will Volcano Bay offer guests? Well, the better question is what won’t they offer? You won’t be able to escape the tropics here with 60 items available including snacks, entrees and desserts, spread over five locations.

Visitors will be able to choose from sushi, coconut curry chicken, mango barbecue pulled pork sandwich, jerked Mahi sandwich, Hawaiian pizza, Hawaiian ribs, poke bowl, quinoa edamame burger, guava tapioca pudding and a chocolate pineapple upside-down cake. The chocolate lava cake will tie everything together since the park has a volcano at its center. Plus, you can even unwind with refreshing tropical cocktails and frozen fruity drinks.
