Theme Park News

A new hybrid coaster made of wood and steel is about to ride into Fun Spot America.  This June 23, guests to the attraction park will get the chance to experience this unique coaster and its 360-degree barrels roll, 49 miles per hour speeds and 115-degree inversion bank. It’s called Mine Blower and you’ll be blown away by the many different thrills you’ll feel in a single ride.

In December of last year, John Arie Jr., Fun Spot America’s CEO, said in a statement, “This is huge news not just for us but the city of Kissimmee as this will be the only wooden roller coaster in the southeast United States that will feature a 360-degree barrel roll. This roller coaster will be completely unique and thrilling – we have worked tirelessly with the Gravity Group to design a ride that will be a must-ride coaster for any thrill seeker and coaster enthusiast, definitely bucket-list worthy. We are still working through the theming, naming rights and sponsorship opportunities but with over two million visitors to our parks each year we do expect to move forward quickly on these opportunities. This is huge news for all of us in this community as we continue to raise the bar and level of expectations when guests visit our city. Let's Make America Fun Again!"

We now know the ride will be called Mine Blower with a gold mine theme. Plus, track length is 2,289 feet and the lift hill height is 83 feet. In addition to the 360-degree barrel roll and 115-degree inversion bank, which is the first of its kind on a wooden roller coaster, the ride will also include two tunnels, an airtime of 12 minutes, Zero-G inversion and more.

While parking and admission is free at Fun Spot America, a ride on the new Mine Blower will cost you an armband. The armband also allows access to several of Fun Spot’s other rides and attractions. You can find discounted tickets to the armbands here on Orlando Fun tickets.
