Orange County Public Schools start back to school on August 18, as do many of the surrounding counties and that means it’s time to get the kids ready for another school year. Believe it or not Walt Disney World ® can help! Thanks to numerous educational attractions your kids will be ready to hit the books in no time. Here are the top attractions to get your children ready for school:

Ellen’s Energy Adventure – Kids will take a romp through comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres’s subconscious and travel back in time to the era of dinosaurs in this energetic attraction at Epcot ®. Here children will learn about how fossil fuels were formed. You’ll smell prehistoric swamps, encounter streams of molten lava and much more on this exciting adventure thousands of years ago!

Innoventions – “Imagine, invent, and be inspired in two pavilions housing fun interactive games, exhibits and activities for all ages.” That’s how Disney ® has described Innoventions East and West and if that doesn’t sound like an educational attraction we don’t know what is. Innoventions West is home to such exhibits as The Great Piggy Bank Adventure where physical piggy banks and virtual P.I.G.s (personal investment guides) teach kiddos the importance of saving for a life goal; THINK – presented by IBM, which challenges kids to think about ways to make the world safer and more efficient; Where’s the Fire? – presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance, where kids are asked to find the fire hazards in “the most dangerous house in America” and many more. Innoventions East houses even more hands-on activities and exhibits including StormStruck – presented by the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, where you will test your knowledge on how to protect your home and family from severe weather; The Sum of All Thrills – presented by Ratheon where you will use your math, science and engineering skills to design your very own thrill ride and many other educational exhibits.

Wilderness Explorer – Kids who love exploring the great outdoors will love learning how to become a Wilderness Explorer in this fun-filled adventure at Animal Kingdom ®. Just like Russell and his faithful dog from the Disney/Pixar film “Up,” youngsters will travel across jungles, forests and woods as you set out on a series of challenges that test your wilderness skills.

Disney Phineas and Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure – This Epcot ® attraction lets gets test out their secret agent skills as they go on an undercover interactive quest around World Showcase. After you’re recruited to help stop Phineas and Ferb’s nemesis Dr. Doofenshmirtz and his evil plots you’ll scour the many World Showcases including Mexico Pavilion, Norway Pavilion, China Pavilion and more for clues. As you look you’ll learn a thing or two about each country and stop Dr. Doofenshmirtz!

Conservation Station – Future veterinarians will love the interactive exhibits and veterinarian facility at Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom ®. Here your kids will get to see the expert care Disney’s ® animals receive as well as learn more about Disney’s ® efforts to promote conservation awareness. You’ll also get up-close views of Disney’s ® many animals as they are cared, feed and loved by handlers.
