We understand that having a large family comes with a lot of planning when you are trying to work out the details of your next vacation. So, we at OrlandoFunTickets.com would like to give you some suggestions for the best places for large families to stay on property at the Walt Disney World Resort.
One way to accommodate a large family is by staying at one of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. There are six DVC resorts in all, and each comes with amenities that you would normally find in an apartment or a suite, including kitchens/kitchenettes, living rooms and separate bedrooms. Some of these resorts can even fit more than 10 people into one space! Of course, these resorts are open to DVC members first and foremost, but they are also available on a space-available basis to non vacation club members. These resorts are also great for large families because they also offer more activities for children and more pools and recreation areas than most of the other Walt Disney World resorts.
Another option for families of up to six people are the Wilderness Homes at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds. These log cabins are rustic in nature and are a perfect place to get that “country” feel if you prefer camping or are into the outdoors. Another alternative to staying in a more rustic environment, but not completely in the wild, is nearby at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This deluxe hotel is different from most, in that it offers many of its rooms with a queen size bed and a set of bunk beds, or you can get bunk bed suites here as well, where one room will be equipped with two sets of bunk beds. Children especially love staying here, and it gives everyone something to look forward to when they come back at night after a long day of park hopping.
A new popular alternative to staying in a suite at Walt Disney World for a cheaper price is located at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. Here, Disney has added 192 family suites that sleep six people plus a crib and feature a kitchenette with a microwave and two full bathrooms. These family suites have been so popular that plans are currently underway for the construction of similar family suites for Disney’s Pop Century Resort, although no estimated date has been set for those to open to guests.
Of course, Disney is all about families, so they will accommodate large parties to the best of their ability. If you would like adjoining rooms, please note that when you call to make your reservations for your hotel. And, don’t get caught up in just getting your rooms set – theme park tickets are necessary too!
