| The Florida Aquarium
A premier aquarium in the state of Florida, and known to many as one of the best kid-friendly aquariums in the U.S., the Florida Aquarium delivers an engaging mix of fun and discovery that makes for a super day for the entire family. The impressive three-story, glass domed aquarium sits alongside the scenic waterfront in the Channelside District in downtown Tampa, surrounded by shops, nightlife, and restaurants.
Visitors will encounter thousands of marine animals and plants throughout the air-conditioned building. Two separate touch-tanks provide an up-close opportunity to encounter the sea life, while a variety of exhibits – such as the Coral Reef Gallery and Ocean Commotion - showcases the aquatic animals and their ecosystems in Florida and around the world. There are assorted educational shows for the kids, not to mention a big outdoor water park, complete with pirate ship, water cannons, and water spouts everywhere. There is also a nearby bar and grill.
Another hit with the kids is the face-to-face encounter with the aquarium’s resident penguins during the daily Penguin Promenade. There’s always something to see from sea otters and sharks, to birds and penguins at the Florida Aquarium -- educational, hands-on, and so much fun.
