Each year during the holiday season, the Walt Disney World® Resort comes alive with festive cheer. The Walt Disney World® Resort Theme Parks are decked to the nines and feature special parties, shows and events for guests, while the resort hotels also offer many activities for holiday revelers. The Disney Springs Area may be its own separate entity, but it too has a special event of its own during the holidays, known as the Festival of the Seasons.
Disney Springs Resort is the ultimate holiday destination for many reasons. First of all, there is no better place on property to find presents for everyone on your shopping list. With stores like the World of Disney Store, which has gifts for every occasion, accompanied by shops such as Team Mickey (which has athletic gear and memorabilia), Tren-D (apparel and accessories for young women) and Once Upon a Toy (a children’s store chock full of toys), there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to complete your shopping lists for the entire family. While you are shopping at the Disney Springs Marketplace, be sure to pay special attention to two things – No. 1, the decorations in the stores and in the storefront and displays, as they are all holiday themed, and No. 2, you would be wise to take a trip to Disney Springs® dedicated store for the holidays, Disney’s Days of Christmas. This winter wonderland features everything from Christmas stockings to holiday cards, tree toppers and skirts and many other holiday-themed gifts that you can’t find anywhere else. While you are taking a stroll through the store, be sure to also check out the array or ornaments for sale, as these can actually be personalized for a small extra fee by artists that are stationed there in the store (beware if you are shopping close to the holidays, however, as the wait times for your product to be personalized can be a few days to a few weeks long).
Shopping isn’t the only reason to visit the Disney Springs Marketplace during the Festival of the Seasons, however. This area of the Walt Disney World® Resort also comes alive with festive displays of lights, while carolers, musical acts and variety performers entertain guests that are visiting the area (many of these acts perform on the newly-renovated Waterside Stage in front of the World of Disney® Store). And what holiday season would be complete without a picture with the man himself, Santa Claus! That’s right – Santa himself make appearances throughout the season, giving your family a photo that you can always remember.
