Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith attraction, along with the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania!, are three of the most popular attractions not only Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but the entire Walt Disney World Resort. And while this attraction in particular may be in the shadows of the towering Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, this ride by no means lacks in the thrill department compared to its counterpart. In fact, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has one thing that no other attraction on property has – inversions!

In addition to being the only attraction on property that takes guests upside down, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has a few other unique attributes as well. As you can see, it has a rock ‘n’ roll theme, so everything from the giant guitar on the outside to the pre-show on the inside is musically-inclined. The premise of this ride is that you are entering G-Force Records, where the recording group Aerosmith has just finished a recording session in the studio. But when it is announced that they are late for a concert, the group’s lead singer, Steven Tyler, suggests that everyone in the audience be given a backstage pass and taken to the concert with them in a limo. From the pre-show area, guests are then led to what appears to be a dark alley, where your “super-stretch” limo (aka the roller coaster car) is waiting.

The actual coaster itself is as unique as its theme. Guests will immediately notice upon sitting down that you actually have speakers on each headrest, which is where Aerosmith songs are blasted as you make your way through the more than minute-long coaster. The beginning of the attraction is also the most thrilling, as the “limo” is blasted off to 60 mph in less than three seconds! Right after the first main stretch, guests are treated to the ride’s first inversion, and from there you wind through the dark streets of Los Angeles, passing neon freeway signs and other inversions along the way as you head to the famous Los Angeles Forum to catch the concert.

The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith attraction is definitely one of the first attractions guests should check out at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
