Top Things to Do

Whether your family is staying at one of the amazing on-site hotels at the Universal Orlando Resort, or just visiting, there are fun activities, delicious foods and unique entertainment waiting around every corner. Conveniently located in the middle of the action, near the theme parks and Universal CityWalk, the on-site hotels offer some of the most exciting things to do at the resort. Here's a list of our top 5 favorites!

Bowling at Cabana Bay Beach Resort
Inspired by the famous Hollywood Star Lanes seen in classic films, you'll find the Galaxy Bowl on the second floor above the lobby at the retro themed Cabana Bay Beach Resort. This colorful 1950's era bowling alley fits right in at the laid back resort's classic Americana style. Picking up a game or two after a day at the theme parks is easy because this bowling alley is usually open late! Plus, you can order up a fun mixed drink, some late-night snacks or even a complete meal from the full-service restaurant located inside. The chicken wings here are definitely a "strike" and the Cosmic Margarita is out of this world.

Kitchen Sink Challenge at Hard Rock Hotel
The Kitchen restaurant at Hard Rock Hotel is a great place to grab a bite to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner, because it offers some of the best tasting food on property. You'll feel like a rock star when dining here since the walls are covered in celebrity memorabilia. If you're up to the task, you can take on the Kitchen Sink Challenge. You will have 30 minutes to devour a massive burger topped with bacon and a giant onion ring, a full basket of fries, and last but not least, a gigantic 3-pound piece of 7-layer cake. Those that can conquer the challenge will win their place on the wall of fame, as well as get their meal for free!

Wantilan Luau at Royal Pacific Resort
Every Saturday night you can experience outstanding Polynesian food and entertainment during the Wantilan Luau at Loews Royal Pacific Resort. Enjoy a tropical all-you-can-eat buffet complete with pit-roasted pig. There are options on the buffet to satisfy even the pickiest in your family; everything from fresh seafood and authentic Hawaiian fare to pizza and chicken fingers for the kids. Live musicians perform during dinner, but the real show starts after dessert. Be amazed by fire twirlers, fast-paced hula dancers and more. You may even get the chance to show off your own hula dancing skills during the show!

Live Entertainment at Portofino Bay Hotel
When the sun sets at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, the Harbor Piazza comes alive with Musica della Notte. Classically trained singers perform a unique blend of classic opera songs and "popera," which is a modern take on classical music. Enjoy a meal under the stars or walk along the waterfront while being serenaded by the sweet sound of the musicians performing from the balcony. Depending on the night, you may catch one of three different themed shows: Romantico Night, Classico Night and Italian Festival Night. The piazza is also a nice place for shopping, dining or a romantic stroll with all the charm of Italy.

Arcade & Drinks at Sapphire Falls Resort
Between splashing around at Volcano Bay, partying with Minions at Universal Studios Florida and battling super-villains at Islands of Adventure, your family can make a pit stop at the Sapphire Falls Resort. Kids will love playing classic and modern video games at the Calypso Game Room. Grown-ups will love relaxing and sampling some of the more than 70 types of rum from the Strong Water Tavern lounge. Embark on a flight or tasting of your choosing with rums categorized by more than a dozen regions around the world. Plus, the whole family can enjoy delicious tapas inspired by Cuban, Mexican, Peruvian and Caribbean cuisine.
