Uncover how Disney animators bring your favorite Disney characters to life, using real life animals as inspiration in the new Animation Experience at Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

In honor of The Lion King’s 30th anniversary, Walt Disney World will relaunch The Animation Experience at Conservation Station this summer. Guests will learn more about some of the animals who live at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and then have the chance to create a personalized piece of Disney art through an instructor-led animation class.

Visitors can learn how to draw some of their favorite The Lion King characters including Simba, Zazu, Pumbaa, Timon and more.

Each 25-minute class will offer something different, so be sure to come back for more. Bonus: Disney FastPass+ will be offered for the experience, and you can now make those selections.

Other unique opportunities available at Rafiki’s Planet Watch when it reopens this July 11 include the chance to greet and hug the animals at Affection Section, catch a glimpse of medical procedures at the veterinary treatment window, learn how animal care experts prepare meals for and care for the park’s animal residents and more.
