Gatorland is officially celebrating its 70th birthday. Over the next year, the Alligator Capital of the World invites you to experience some of its most fascinating creatures like alligators, including the extremely rare white leucitic alligators. The park is also home to crocodiles, a free-flight aviary, petting zoo, and more. Let’s explore what Gatorland is all about.
Although alligators are its primary draw, Gatorland houses many different reptiles and mammals including parrots, a Great Horned Owl, Florida Panthers, Texas Cougar, tortoises, the Eastern Coral Snake, the Florida Cottonmouth, Dusky Pygmy Rattlesnake and more. You can see most of these animals in the many exhibits and up-close encounters. Meanwhile, the alligators steal the show with their own show like Gator Jumparoo and Alligators: Legends of the Swamp.
In addition to all the animals, Gatorland is also home to some other thrills like the Screaming’ Gator Zipline. Voted Best Zip Line in the USA by AOL Travel, the Gator Zipline flies guests along 1,200 feet from some of the finest towers in the world. The towers stand over 7 stories tall and feature multilevel launch pads. For an extra thrill watch out below as you fly over some of the park’s best attractions, including Cuban and Nile Crocodiles and the Alligator Breeding Marsh.
The Gator Night Shine takes guests inside the life of an alligator. This night tour equips you with a flashlight and gator food. You’ll make your way to the Alligator Breeding Marsh and get a chance to see alligators during their most active time of day. The Gator Night Shine is available every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
