All the Walt Disney World theme parks are offering fun and exciting parties and special events this summer that are sure to brighten your family's day. With events celebrating Disney's Hollywood Studios' 30th anniversary, honoring The Lion King's 25th anniversary, and a massive street party for Mickey Mouse's 90th birthday, there's something fun for your family to take part in no matter which park you're heading to! Here are 5 fun parties and events happening this summer at Walt Disney World.
DJ’s Ready! Set! Party Time!
Just now starting its engines, this exciting party has recently taken to the streets behind Rockin' Roller Coaster, right outside of the all-new Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Guests of all ages are invited to dance and party along with the music mix from DJ, the ultimate party on wheels. Kids can participate in Cars-inspired games several times daily. Fans of the Cars films can also meet Piston Cup champion Cruz Ramirez for a photo nearby during the event. This is just one of the many amazing new experiences happening this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Celebrate with the Incredibles at Pixar Place
Also at Disney's Hollywood Studios, your family can join The Incredibles for some super-charged fun, now through September 30th. Get down and boogie with Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone during dance parties with an emcee daily. Plus, you can explore Edna Mode’s Super-Suit Gallery, meet some of the characters from the films, and help search for baby Jack-Jack around the area. He could be hiding anywhere! One of the greatest parts of this limited-time super celebration, are the unique snacks and treats, including the giant Chocolate Chip Cookie Num Num — which is delicious, and Jack-Jack approved.
The Lion King Celebration
To mark the 25th anniversary of the original animated film, your family can take part in The Lion King Celebration at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Catch the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party in Discovery Island, located across from Flame Tree Barbecue. Party along to music performed by "wildly" talented musicians, and a live DJ providing animal-inspired songs and tunes from The Lion King performed in a world beat style. Timon and Rafiki, along with their Disney animal pals like Baloo, Koda, Meeko and Terk are ready to join you on the dance floor. Plus, starting this summer, you can witness Tree of Life projection shows every evening with a new story inspired by Simba’s journey.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!
Returning to Epcot this summer, Awesome Mix Live is a rip-roaring musical show starring everyone's favorite characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Star-Lord and Gamora, along with a 7-piece alien band, are ready to take you on a musical journey. The show features timeless classics from the 70s and 80s, from both Awesome Mix Volumes 1 & 2, perfect for your family to sing and dance along to. The show starts June 9th and runs through August 19th. It's presented at the American Gardens Theatre in World Showcase and will run several times daily.
Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party
Kids of all ages love to dance and sing along at this new musical celebration staring Mickey and Minnie at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Follow the colorful floats filled with Mickey's friends like Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Clarabelle, as they travel down Main Street, U.S.A. towards Cinderella Castle. Then clap your hands, sing along and boogie down to modern remixes of classic Disney tunes, as well as an-new original song It's a Good Time. This fun and feel-good street party lasts a total of 35-minutes and happens only a few times daily. Check the Times Guide for showtimes so you don't miss it!
