For some of us, your dog is much more than just a pet. It’s a member of your family! If your family goes on vacation, why shouldn’t your furry family members be able to join you? Walt Disney World offers a few pet-friendly resorts with these guests in mind! Offering a resort in each price range, Disney makes it easy for you to accommodate your furry family members all vacation long. So if you’re planning to bring your pup on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth, these Disney Resorts are for you!

Walt Disney World’s Dog-Friendly Resorts

  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Value Resort ($50/night)
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside – Moderate Resort ($50/night)
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – Deluxe Resort ($75/night)
  • The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort ($50/night)

The dog-friendly rooms at these select resorts feature access to outdoor walkways for exercise and exclusive green areas for pet relief. At check-in, guests and their pets will receive Pluto’s Welcome Kit, which includes puppy pads, bowls, plastic bags, dog walking maps, a pet I.D. and a mat! Guests will also receive a special “Room Occupied” sign that must be displayed on their door to keep staff aware that a pet is present within the room.

This program is currently limited to two dogs per room, and requires that pets must be kept on a leash at all times in outdoor areas. Although certain floors and resort building are designated as dog-friendly, the majority of these resorts, including the food & beverage locations, club lounges, fitness centers and pool areas remain pet-free.

Housekeeping services are not available when a dog is present within the room, which means that guests will need to schedule a time for these services to take place. Just simply dial the Housekeeping button on your room’s phone to plan a time that’s convenient for you while you take your dog on a walk!

Pet Care/Kenneling Services
Since dogs aren’t allowed (with the exception of service animals) within the four Disney theme parks, two Disney water parks, Disney Springs or ESPN Wide World of Sport Complex, you may choose to send your pup to a daycare while you enjoy your time in the parks.

Walt Disney World works directly with Best Friends Pet Care, which offers an array of services for pet owners staying on property. From overnight accommodations and grooming salons to a full day of fun at their daycare, your precious furry family members will be in good hands. This facility features pet cams for you to check on your best friend, indoor and outdoor playrooms, a splash park and more!

To get a complete guide to all of Best Friends Pet Care’s offerings, visit their website bestfriendspetcare.com, or call to book a tour of the facility at (407) 209-3126. It’s good to have peace of mind that your furry family members are getting the best care possible while you’re away making memories at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

As you can see, those dreams of bringing man’s best friend on your Disney vacation are possible thanks to Walt Disney World’s dog friendly resort options. This program is currently still in its pilot program, which means that the dog-friendly accommodations may change in time. For now, guests can book at stay at one of four dog-friendly resorts knowing that their furry family members will be a part of the magic of their Disney Resort hotel stay.
