We’re a few weeks into Universal Orlando’s annual Mardi Gras celebration and so far the party has proved to be bigger and bolder than ever.  Every night guests can travel to the Big Easy and enjoy all of the fun of Bourbon street including colorful parades, authentic Cajun cuisine, beads and much more. Here are 5 can’t miss experiences at Universal’s Mardi Gras 2019:

Mardi Gras Parade
This year, Universal’s Mardi Gras parade is themed to Party Animals, and we can’t think of a better name for the processional.  The nightly parade includes everything you expect from the real one including beads, dancers, and stilt performers and this year floats that are themed after animals from around the world including the jungle, arctic, swamp and more.

Live Concerts
Some of the biggest names in the music industry will keep the fun going with live concerts at the Music Plaza stage in Universal Studios Florida. The remaining performers include:
March 2 – Sabrina Carpenter
March 9 – Becky G
March 10 – Sean Paul
March 16 – Steve Miller Band
March 17 – Ziggy Marley
March 23 – NF
March 24 – Pitbull
March 30 – Bazzi

Authentic Cajun Cuisine
Aside from the beads and the floats, we recognize Mardi Gras for its mouthwatering food. The French Quarter Courtyard located in the New York area of the park gives a taste of Bourbon street with bite-sized Cajun favorites including jambalaya, shrimp gumbo, Andouille sausage, beignets and more.

Mardi Gras Drinks
Pair your Mardi Gras favorites with a refreshing specialty beverage. This year’s party includes some unique cocktails like the Ragin Rumbalaya, Carnival Cocktail and Vicious VooDoo.

Live Music & Entertainment
If you happen to miss one of the live concerts, you want to be sure to listen to authentic New Orleans music, so stick around the French Quarter for authentic Big Easy bands:
The remaining bands include:
Free Agents Brass Band featuring Honey Bannister February 28 – March 18
New Breed Brass Band March 19 – April 4

The area will also entertain with stilt walkers, dancers, colorful parade characters and more.
