June through September are typically the hottest months in Orlando, and in a city where majority of the entertainment is outside, what’s a family to do? Plenty! Orlando is home to several activities that are either indoors or put you in water to keep cool. Here are some insider tips for surviving the summer in Orlando:
First things first. When you think of surviving the summer heat you usually think of a body of water. Orlando don’ts just offer bodies of water, they offer entire parks dedicated to splashes. From water parks that let you swim with dolphins like Aquatica to ones that put you inside a Blizzard like Disney’s Blizzard Beach, Orlando water parks will certainly keep you cool during these hot months. Other Orlando water parks include Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, LEGOLAND Florida Water Park, Universal’s Volcano Bay and Daytona Lagoon.
Speaking of being in water this summer, Orlando also offers some fun water sports that offer plenty of chilly splashes. Buena Vista Watersports invite you to get adventurous with water-skiing, wake boarding, tubing and jet skiing.
If you’re looking to be on the water but don’t want to actually get in the water enjoy one of the city’s many boat rides. Nature adventurers will love the Boggy Creek Airboat Rides that take you through the Everglades in search of animal wildlife, all while on an airboat. For those who like to couple their boating with gambling try Victory Casino Cruises and stay cool and hopefully lucky too. You can even up your thrill factor by taking a joy ride on a speed boat with Speed Boat Adventures.
When it’s just too hot out and you have to take the fun indoors head to one of Orlando’s many shows. Couple your entertainment with dinner at one of Orlando’s many dinner shows including the family-friendly hit Medieval Times or Pirates Dinner Adventure. Theatrical productions like Blue Man Group will have the kids laughing, singing and dancing the night away.
Maybe your indoor adventures need a little more hands-on fun to them. If so keep cool and have a blast at such popular indoor attractions as Sea Life Aquarium, Crayola Experience, Kennedy Space Center or iFly Indoor Skydiving.
