When is the best time of year to visit Walt Disney World? Right now! January is actually one of the least busy months because you can still enjoy holiday cheer and there are some fun events to make your trip magical. Here are the top 5 reasons to visit Walt Disney World in January:

The Holidays Aren’t Over
While the holidays are technically over, Walt Disney World keeps the spirit of the holiday season alive through January. Guests can still take in the glittering lights and special decor as well as some holiday entertainment. If you couldn’t make it to the park during the actual holidays, January is the perfect time to visit.

Lighter Crowds
One of Walt Disney World’s busiest times is from Thanksgiving to New Years. Once January rolls around the crowds have died down. This is a great time to take advantage of shorter lines and some of the other entertainment you might not otherwise get to experience in a busier month.

Cooler Weather
January actually is cool in Orlando. Sometimes it can be downright frigid. For northerners, the Orlando cold is a welcome break form the freezing temps and for Floridians, it’s a great time to enjoy the parks without sweating the entire day.

Epcot International Festival of the Arts
The Epcot International Festival of the Arts takes over Epcot beginning January 18 through February 25. The festival is a global cultural celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts. Guests can explore art galleries, discover new flavors and watch as Disney on Broadway performs amazing concerts.

Marathon Weekend
January is the perfect time for runners to visit. Every January, runners toe the line of the Walt Disney World Marathon and run through all four Disney parks. This year the weekend takes place January 9-13. Enjoy a post-race stop at one of the parks you just ran through and make it a full-on Disney vacation.
