Selena at Madame Tussauds Orlando

A wax figure of the late Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla is now available for a limited time at the Madame Tussauds Orlando attraction.

"Our family is excited that Selena fans in Orlando will have a chance to see this beautiful wax figure in person," Suzette Quintanilla said in a statement. "We are thrilled to continue to work with Madame Tussauds to celebrate her legacy with fans from all around the world.”

From today through April 8, fans will have the chance to come face-to-face with the singer and share their love for her by leaving a letter. Those letters will be passed on to Selena’s family.

Madame Tussauds Orlando worked with the Quintanilla family and the Selena Museum to replicate the pose, expression, makeup and styling from her 1993 concert performance in Corpus Christi, Texas. The music there was used for the album “Selena Live!” which won the Grammy Award for Best Mexican/American album in 1994.

Although Selena died after a shooting in 1995, her music lived on with more than 70 million in album sales. The posthumous album “Dreaming of You” became the fastest-selling album by a female artist in pop history. The album sold 175,000 copies on its first day, more than 400,000 copies in its fist week and debuted at number 1 on the Billboard pop chart.

She has sold 70 million albums worldwide and even 22 years later is still winning awards, such as the Female Artist of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2017. Selena is the only Latin female artist to have five albums simultaneously on Billboard 200.

Selena’s figure is also on display at Madame Tussauds Hollywood.
