Blue Man Group at Universal CityWalk has once again teamed up with Autism Speaks, the world’s largest autism science and advocacy organization to bring guests the third annual collaborative Blue Man Group performance. The one-night only show will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 6 p.m.
This special performance is always one of Blue Man Group Orlando’s favorite nights. The excitement from the stage and audience is palpable. People of all ages affected by autism can connect with the Blue Men and music in a safe environment where they are encouraged to be themselves and have fun.
Slight modifications will be made to the show including reducing sound and light levels during the performance and making headphones available upon request. The Blue Men will also limit the amount of direct audience interaction and keep their approach to the audience more subdued. There will also be calming environments in the theater’s lobby for families seeking a break from the excitement.
“We’ve heard from many families affected by autism that their children responded to the Blue Man character in a very moving way. We are thrilled to provide a safe and welcoming environment and are often quite moved by the emotional response to the show,” said Phil Stanton, Blue Man Group co-founder in an interview.
The Universal Orlando Autism Speaks performance is a part of a national partnership between Blue Man Group and Autism Speaks, in which Blue Man Group pledges to host autism-friendly shows suitable for families in Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York City and Orlando.
