Ten-hut! Sarge and the Green Army Men from the Disney/Pixar Toy Story films will march their way into the new Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when it opens June 30. When they do, the Green Army Men will interact with guests through a fun boot camp.
As the Drum Corps marches through the land, guests are invited to follow another squadron of Green Army Men to their fun and interactive boot camp, where they are tested in their abilities with Pixar balls, oversized crayons and a fun game of Sarge Says (their own spin on Simon Says).
In addition to Sarge and the Green Army Men, Toy Story Land will be filled with larger-than-life toys, building blocks and game pieces from the Toy Story films, and characters from the movies including Woody, Buzz and Jessie.
Rides include the Alien Swirling Saucers designed as a play set Andy won at the Pizza Planet restaurant from the films. Guests will whirl around in rocket ship toys and ride in between toy planets and space stations.
The other ride, Slinky Dog Dash, is a family-friendly coaster that was designed to look like Andy’s assembled his Mega Coaster Play Kit around his backyard. The ride stretches Slinky to the max as he bends and twists throughout the new land.
Toy Story Mania! rounds out the games and rides at Toy Story Land. Guests will be able to zip through a virtual gallery of carnival games based on the film series. Enjoy such games as Hamm & Eggs, Rex & Trixie’s Dino Darts, Green Army Men Shoot Camp, Buzz Lightyear’s Flying Tossers and Woody’s Rootin’ Tootin’ Shootin’ Gallery. Toy Story Mania is also working on a new entrance and queue.
Guests can refuel after all their playing at Woody’s Lunch Box. This restaurant is actually inside Andy’s lunch box he has turned into a walk-up window. The Lunch Box features classic American fare, old-fashioned soda floats and Toy Story-themed specialties.
