Food for Thought

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort allows anyone to feel like a wizard with interactive wand experiences, incredible attractions and stunning recreations of memorable locations from the stories. This immersive world is also filled with tempting taste sensations pulled straight from the Harry Potter universe.

Here are our top 10 snacks and sweets to try in the Wizarding World during your next Universal vacay:

Cauldron Cakes
What would a good wizard or witch be without a cauldron? This mini chocolate cake is served in a keepsake cauldron and is covered in red flame frosting. You can find it at Sugarplums Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley and Honeydukes in Hogsmeade Village. These adorable little cauldrons also come inside a colorful keepsake box worth taking home along with the reusable silicone cauldron.

Pumpkin Pasties
This sweet and savory treat can also be found at Sugarplums Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley and Honeydukes in Hogsmeade Village. If you're a fan of pumpkin pie, you have got to try Pumpkin Pasties. They're small hand-held pies made with a flaky crust and filled with a pumpkin pie type filling. They pair perfectly with Pumpkin Juice!

Chocolate Frogs
This treat was made famous by the Harry Potter film series, and just like in the films, it comes with a collectible wizard card. The card features one of the Hogwarts House founders and becomes animated when you move it side to side. The chocolate frog itself is made of solid milk chocolate and is quite big. Luckily it comes it a beautiful keepsake box so you can save the rest for later.

Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream
At Florean Fortescue in Diagon Alley, you'll find the best ice cream in the Wizarding World – and perhaps the best in the muggle world, as well. Order unique hard packed ice cream flavors like Earl Grey and Lavender, Chocolate Chili, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Salted Caramel Blondie – or try a delicious soft serve concoction like Butterbeer, Granny Smith, Strawberries & Cream and much more. You may need to make multiple trips here on your vacation because you won't be able to get enough!

Butterbeer Potted Cream
Potted Cream is a traditional British treat, but the Wizarding version is simply to die for. You can order this as a dessert at Diagon Alley's Leaky Cauldron or Hogsmeade's Three Broomsticks. It's served in a glass jar and has a smooth, creamy texture like a decadent mousse. It's topped with a butterscotch drizzle and a dollop of whipped cream for that perfect bite every time. You can order a chocolate potted cream as well.

Frozen Butterbeer
No list of sweet snacks at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be complete without paying homage to this elevated version of the classic HP beverage from whence many of these other desserts came, perhaps the most canonical confection on offer here. Part cream soda, part slushy and part ice cream float, this magical dessert is pretty much required eating for your visit to the park. Pro tip: Splurge on the refillable Butterbeer mug, which will make your refills cheaper because – trust us – you’ll be more than ready to say “Accio” to seconds.

Butterbeer Fudge
One of the newest treats in the Wizarding World, you can find Butterbeer fudge at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade, as well as Sugarplums in Diagon Alley. It's a two-layer piece of fudge that tastes like biting directly into a refreshing glass of Butterbeer. The top layer tastes like the sweet butterscotch, while the bottom tastes like shortbread. You can find other types of fudge, too, in case you're not a fan of Butterbeer (as if people like that actually exist!).

No-Melt Ice Cream
When snacking under the hot Florida sun, it's good to know you can order an "ice cream" sundae that won't melt! This creamy and fluffy treat can be found in both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, and is available in a variety of flavors. Wizards love the pumpkin flavor, while many muggles may prefer a simple vanilla or chocolate option.

Sticky Toffee Pudding
This classic British dessert is the perfect end to a hearty Wizarding meal at either the Leaky Cauldron or The Three Broomsticks. It's like a big warm cinnamon roll that's covered in sticky syrup, chocolate chunks, butterscotch chips and a big scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. You're going to need two forks, because this is definitely a dessert worth sharing!

Skiving Snackboxes
For the ultimate Harry Potter treat collection, pop into Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. This zany store in Diagon Alley is owned and operated by twins Fred and George Weasley, and their top-selling item is the Skiving Snackbox. Inside this keepsake cardboard box you'll find pull-out drawers filled with a variety of Wizarding sweets like Fainting Fancies, Fever Fudge, Puking Pastilles and more!
