Lots of changes happened at Orlando theme parks last week. Walt Disney World alone opened a few restaurants and announced the closing of one fun Disney Springs attraction. In case you missed it, here are the top 5 things that happened at Orlando them parks last week:

Rivers of Light Gets Official Opening Date – The highly anticipated nighttime show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Rivers of Light will officially open on February 17. The nighttime spectacular will include floating set pieces, spectacular music, and a score made specifically for the show.

DisneyQuest Closing – The “indoor theme park” DisneyQuest at Disney Springs will officially close its doors on July 2. The NBA Experience, which will include high-tech experiences, a restaurant and a store, will go in its place. Don’t miss the chance to DisneyQuest’s popular games one last time like play Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam, CyberSpace Mountain, and more traditional video games.

Planet Hollywood Observatory – The new Planet Hollywood Observatory opened at Disney Springs on January 30. The revamped restaurant now includes a menu created by Chef Guy Fieri, a new theme and an outdoor lounge. The menu includes such creative dishes as “Mayor of Flavortown,” a pastrami sandwich with “donkey sauce” on a pretzel bun, the ‘Tatted Up Turkey,” a turkey burger with smoked gouda and a “Bird is the Word” fried chicken sandwich.

Paddlefish Now Open – Also recently open at Disney Springs is the seafood restaurant Paddlefish. The restaurant, which is located in the old Fulton’s Crab House opened on February 4 and includes a few guest favorites from Fulton’s menu as well as new creations like the lobster risotto, lobster corn dogs, jambalaya, lobster guacamole and branzino carved right at the table.

SeaWorld Orlando Seven Seas Food Festival – SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival actually kicks off this Saturday, February 11 but last week, the park announced some big artists who will be performing at the festival. Most notably is Lynyrd Skynyrd, comedian Bill Engvall, Styx, Village People and animal expert Jack Hanna!
