To celebrate Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hitting theaters November 16th, the Universal Orlando Resort is offering limited-edition wands and other merchandise for a limited time. Available at both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, as well as Universal CityWalk, you can pick up a wand modeled after your favorite Fantastic Beasts characters.
There are eight replica wands available to purchase, each recreated perfectly to match the ones used in the films. Newt Scamander, the main character from the Fantastic Beasts series, has a wand that covered with claw scratches and bite marks, because he's always surrounded by the magical creatures that he transports with him everywhere via his enchanted suitcase. Newt's brother, Theseus Scamander – who will make his first appearance in the new film – also has a wand available for sale.
Gellert Grindelwald, the title villain of the series, uses the Elder Wand, which can be purchased with a special box with his name labeled on it. Potter fans may remember that the Elder Wand is later used by Dumbledore and finally by Voldemort before ultimately being destroyed. Wielders of the Elder Wand know it is more powerful than other wands and contains a Thestral tail-hair core, making it a bit trickier to master than most wands. Only the most experienced of wizard can handle its power.
Porpentina and Queenie Goldstein's wands from the series can also be purchased. These sisters, along with Newt and Jacob Kowalski make up the main cast of characters from the films. Other wands available include one modeled off the wand owned by Nicolas Flamel, an alchemist that created the sorcerer's stone, Leta Lestrange, who was Newt's fiancé, and the wand of a young Albus Dumbledore. Collectors out there will be curious to know that this new wand is different from the one used by older Dumbledore from the original Harry Potter series.
In addition to all the beautifully intricate wands, there are new Fantastic Beasts shirts, magnets, mugs, a replica of Newt's leather-bound journal and plush for some of the adorable beasts from the series. Nifflers can be seen holding a gold coin, because he's a mischievous little scat that loves collecting shiny things. (Nifflers were once used by Goblins for collecting gold since they're so good at it.) Smaller versions in a variety of different colors are also available. They'll look great in your home – but it’s probably best to keep them away from your jewelry box.
The Fantastic Beasts collectible wands are not interactive but make great gifts for the film fans in your family. Wands and other select merchandise based on the film can be found in the main gift shops for Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. You can find wands at both Ollivanders shops in the Wizarding World as well. Niffler plush can also be found at the Magical Menagerie inside of Diagon Alley. Select cart locations at Universal CityWalk are offering Fantastic Beasts merchandise too, but hurry, because these items may only be available through the holidays. After that, they'll vanish faster than you can say "Evanesco!"
