In celebration of Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th anniversary, an all-new cinematic nighttime experience Wonderful World of Animation will debut at the park in May 2019.

The show will use state-of-the-art projection technology to take guests on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation, including Mickey Mouse, the one who started it all. The projection-mapping show will take place on the building of the upcoming attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the former building of The Great Movie Ride.

The concept art shows a diverse lineup of animation including The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, The Emperor’s New Groove, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin and Lilo & Stitch as well as more modern Disney favorites like Frozen, Incredibles 2, Finding Nemo, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Cars 3, Big Hero 6, Moana, Zootopia and Coco.

The new show is expected to replace the existing Disney Movie Magic projection show. It is projected to being May 1.

Speaking of Mickey, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will also welcome the first-ever ride-through attraction themed to the lovable mouse in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Imagineers used breakthrough technology to transform a two-dimensional cartoon into a real-world experience. The attraction will feature a new original story and theme songs as it takes guests on a journey inside the world of Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts.
